| Moved to Jersey County, Illinois in October 1860. They lived there five years and then moved to Macoupin County, Illinois in the spring of 1866 where they bought 160 acres of land (then it looked very barren). They went some distance to buy timber for wood. Later the Girard coal shaft was sunk and they sold land 300 feet below the surface for $20 an acre. Catherine and Wilson Huff became members of the Girard Baptist Church in 1870. They spent their last few years in Girard, Illinois.
