Patriot - 6/29/1911 - James A. McPheron died suddently last Thursday [6/22/1911] at home of daughter, Mrs. John Clough - heart failure. Born in Anderson County, Tennessee 2/8/1826. Parents: Amos and Hettie McPheron - married Amanda C. Cato 11/4/1847. Mrs. McPheron died 6/17/1910 - Great lover of music and taught singing in schools all over Greene County. Eight children: those surviving are Edwin N. of Greenfield; Ella, wife of John Scurby of Whittier, CA; Laura, wife of John Clough of Carrollton; Robert A. of Litchfield; and J. Clinton of Carrollton. Anna, wife of L.W. Loomis died several years ago. Leaves one brother William of Rich Hill, Missouri; half-brother C.W. McPheron of Carrollton and one sister, Mrs. Eliza Huddleston of Carlinville; buried at City Cemetery. (019)
